Donation Information

Wellspring is a 501©3 not-for-profit educational organization. Founded in 1982, Wellspring has been running programs since that time in wellness education, ecology and gardening, the arts and personal growth. The programs reflect Wellspring’s mission of helping people live in harmony with themselves and the earth.

Donations are tax deductible and can be made as restricted or unrestricted gifts.

Garden Program - Donations can assist young people in the art of gardening. The Garden Program is a hands-on experience of organic gardening in cooperation with nature. The program is available to school children, interns who are in residence during the growing season, high school and college students, urban dwellers who seek help with backyard gardens, and volunteers who want to work beside the garden team and pick up a few gardening tips.

Scholarships are sought to assist in the training of future farmers in learning to grow, market prepare and preserve quality food. $7,500 supports one intern for one garden season. Some interns go on to work in the Peace Corps; others help with community gardens; all are trained to raise their own food. A few make a career of sustainable agriculture. If we value healthy food, we need to train future generations to grow this food in an earth-friendly manner.

Donations can be made for the upkeep of the buildings and grounds. Nature trails, prairies, ponds, lawns and perennial gardens enhance the natural beauty of Wellspring’s 31 acres and good stewardship makes them available to the thousand visitors that come to Wellspring each year. As a Retreat and Conference Center, Wellspring has 3 buildings that provide overnight accommodations, meeting space, a dining room and a fully equipped kitchen. The facilities are cozy, yet spacious with a view to the outdoors.

Contributing to the endowment fund is a good way to secure the future of Wellspring so it can offer special services to the public for years to come. Please contact us to learn more.
