Since its beginning in 1982, Wellspring has been supported by volunteers. With Wellspring’s natural country setting, volunteers enjoy outdoor work, the peace and quiet, the birds and the camaraderie they feel while at Wellspring. Volunteers are deeply appreciated.
Garden Volunteers can help in the gardens or with the CSA from April through October. There is weeding, planting and harvesting to do. There are tasks for all kinds of folks, sit-down jobs and bending-over jobs. We prefer young people to be at least 12 years old. If accompanied by an adult, 8–11 year-olds can be helpful, too.
Events - We can always use volunteers at our festivals, long before the event. Earth Day is Saturday April 24, 2010; the Taste of Wellspring is on Sat. Sept. 12th. The Harvest Fest is a Sat. October 2nd. We can use stringers to post flyers and posters for special events as well as help plan the events.
Grounds Keepers - We seek folks who love to work outdoors, grooming the trails or helping with landscaping projects. Opportunities run from May through October. Call (262) 675–6755.
Committees - Our Board of Directors are all volunteers. They each serve on a committee. We are always looking for folks to serve on the Program, Development or Finance Committee which meets about 4 times a year. Volunteers are welcome to join a special Task Force which focuses on short-term projects.
If interested in helping, please give us a call (262) 675–6755. Many of our volunteers are donors, CSA shareholders, or come to us through the Volunteer Center of Washington County (262) 338–8256 or Milwaukee County (414) 273–7887.
Wisconsin ranks 13th in the nation with the highest percentage of people who volunteer. In 2003 37.2% of Wisconsin’s population volunteered during the year. There are many unseen rewards that come with volunteering one’s time and talent.
